When Should You Remove Your Window Tint?
Several situations call for window tint removal. Fading and discoloration occur as UV exposure and time degrade the film, making it appear purple or blotchy. Peeling typically happens as adhesive fails, starting at edges and corners. Bubbling and delamination occur when moisture gets between the film and glass, creating air pockets. Changing style preferences might motivate removal to apply new, different tint. Preparation for vehicle sale often requires tint removal if the buyer prefers clear windows.
Legal compliance is another reason for removal. California regulations prohibit excessively dark front window tint, and if your existing tint violates these laws, removal and replacement with legal tint is necessary. Additionally, if tint is causing visibility issues or obstructing cameras and sensors, removal becomes essential for safety and vehicle functionality.
